Radishes & Rubbish is a series of visits to various food-related sites and waste management facilities in and around New York City, organized by yours truly, Annie Myers and Carla Fernandez. We will be venturing out to urban farms, cheese makers’ caves, trash transfer stations, headquarters of composting masterminds and more, and we want you to come along for the ride, to learn about the behind the scenes of the little food systems we support and the waste systems upon which we rely. We want you to meet the amazing characters that make it all happen.
And in case you are not jumping out of your seat already, all of these trips are free! And come with a delicious lunch prepared with regional, seasonal ingredients (all possible thanks to a Green Grant from the NYU Sustainability Taskforce.).
